Here we go again. Ravenstar has updated her Essay to include quotes. In addition to including those that say "Lily is a bitch" they now include much less innocuous quotes from myself and others, gleaned from my Lily's Hypocrisy Essay Thread on Harry Potter Network.

I wonder why Ravenstar hates Snape fans so much? All this misplaced effort to attack women she doesn't know, tossing out big words that she doesn't understand. Exactly like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum ( ... )

It's obvious from the quotes and the 'revised essay' that this Ravenstar, whoever she is, has waaaaay too much time on her hands that could have been better spent visiting Amnesty International or Human Rights International to educate herself on the reality of misogyny, rather than spend so much pointless time and energy scouring forums for quotes that she and her followers can use to attack and belittle other women over a fictional character who happens to be a woman.

Oh wait, that's misogyny, isn't it?

If she really gave a shite about women and injustice, she'd have more serious things to worry about than Lily Potter and what other readers think of her.

Oh yes, lemon ashwinder, I do see the irony and the venom. Nothing brave over it though. To base a whole essay on prejudices and name-calling towards other female posters who happen to disagree with their view of a fictional character is not very impressive - just petty and offensive. And what’s more; it certainly isn’t adding anything to a serious gender discussion.

I think I may blog a bit about this - not sure if I was quoted, but I know Marionros was, and I know the context. There had been an earlier argument with Randomneses about SWM. Many of us (comparatively)older women were very disturbed by Randomneses's responses; she couldn't seem to grasp that James behaves badly toward Lily in this scene, and that Lily behaves badly toward Sev. She could, of course, see that James behaves badly toward Sev, and Sev badly toward Lily - but she couldn't see these other things. Anyway ( ... )

Yes, James' behavior is very disturbing in that scene, I agree. I'd be interested in reading your thoughts, if you post them.

Exactly. I tried to point out to her the problem ravenstar was creating by focusing only on Lily; I don't have the feeling I got through.

Two S-Ss? Who'da thunk it? I think I know the LJ one from a previous fandom although her current profile no longer mentions that interest.
