I confess it is pretty damn elitist to consider the fandom fascination with who sticks what where to reflect badly upon the fandom general, but uh... Or maybe this

TBQH, I've only watched two episodes so far, and I'm not sure a plot has materialized yet. So while she does seem like she'd have agency, I'm not sure towards what end just yet. BUT I'LL TAKE YOUR WORD FOR IT. /o/

Fandom was waaaay better back then. I remember it! I have excellent memory! I even remember slapping Taniguchi's face a couple of times. o/

But seriously, these days, I try to keep away from fandom. I think it is a bit better actually. Way better than the post-R2 dead! Lelouch X live! Lelouch wars. That was real painful. \o/

I blame it on us having way too many spare brain cycles and the show being way too...y'know...while it was airing. "Blahblah, shipping, yeah whatevs, but more interestingly, there is XXXXX. Discuss." But with the show being done (lol, yeah right) and no new material...

I think everyone (on LJ, at least) is pretty tired of the "yes he is", "no he isn't", "stfu", "no u" dead/alive arguments, leaving us with the ubiquitous (and perennially-popular) fandom staple of shipwars. :|b Which is better or worse personally, I really can't say.

I occasionally see rampant idiocy in the fandom, but a lot of people are pretty cool in it. But I sometimes fear that in three years all anyone in the CG fandom will be doing/remembered for doing is angrily yelling about who Lelouch in all his corpsy goodness belongs with.

After about 3 minutes of glancing through the comments/guessing (lol fail) -- fandom secrets?

To me, CG fandom has always been made of a few awesome people and then LOADS of BS. It's such a big fandom with such varied opinions and highly opinionated people (I'll say that I might even be guilty of being opinionated myself, sometimes. Never got down to making that ranty post about how the fandom experience might have ruined some parts of my entire CG experience though).

It's for this (big fandom, too much shipperBS) reason that I try to avoid getting into any discussions aside from those involving official merchandise. I love the show, but it does have the potential of a minefield...of shitstorms.

PS: All the best/have fun with work and studies ♥ I never worked out how you people are able to work, study, do well, and watch so many shows all at once. DO YOU EVEN SLEEP?

Yep, Fandom Secrets. I've been watching that comm for about two and a half years now, so you get quite a nice cross-section of opinions from fandom as a whole

Oh goodness Asuki. Yes yes LJ is at least far better then the forums, I should think. I've never even visited those places TBH ^^" Still, the traces of ship wars/character bashings/ship bashings that I've seen are enough to turn me off quite badly sometimes. We'll all have things we may not like about a series, I'm quite sure, but it's another thing when you get haters and bashers rubbing what THEY don't like in your faces (and of course the turn-off is when it's something you just happen to like.)
