To begin with, I’m writing the characters in the context of an alternative universe - a story that, at a certain point in canon, says “What if X happened instead of Y?” and thereafter explores the consequences of X happening. I was thinking today that S8 has a lot of the same basic problems as a fan fiction project I once worked on. To make a long story short, about seven years ago bunch of writers got together and decided to write a great big awesome virtual S8 (this was long before the comics were a gleam in anyone's eye.)
