I loved how despite the fact that Steve was holding back half the Hawaiian rain forest there, he still had to stop and give Danny all the love and support he could while he was having his meltdown in the car. A meltdown, I might add, which he couldn't do without calling Steve for support.

So much love for this couple!!

And I love love love that STEVE was the voice of reason, that Danny trusted him to talk him down, that that that THEY ARE SO MARRIED IT'S RIDICULOUS, AND STEVE'S BADLY DONE CAMO PAINT I ALSO LOVE.

THESE BOYS ♥

Re: the vest on the bike. Maybe Chin doesn't want stray bullets to hit the bike's fuel tank, which was at the time their only way out of there? Otherwise, I got nothin'.

Mmmmmaybe. Maybe--because when he first took off the vest he didn't know they were bad guys, maybe he was like "OH A CIVLIAN, I SHOULD...NOT BE WEARING KEVLAR?" Idk, of the many things wrong with this show, i should maybe not be quite so hung up about this. >.>

If you worry about these details, you'll only end up writing more fanfic to fix it. Do you really have that much time ( ... )

I watched and have already re-watched, so I have a theory as to why Chin took off his vest. When the guy pulled up in the truck, Chin asked Julie if that was one of the assassins, and Julie answered no. I assume Chin took off the vest so that he could tell the guy that they were just a couple lost in the forest, although he didn't make any effort to actually hide the vest. Then the other assassin dressed like a cop came into view, and Julie did recognize him. As to when Chin put the vest back on, I got nothing. Unless he's made of magic, like the rest of the show.

That's the best theory I can come up with too--besides the fact that Chin is magic, and magic would obviously be impeded by kevlar in regards to smacking someone with a shovel. MAYBE DDK WAS JUST LIKE, "Alright, episode director, do I look sexier in the clunky vest, or no?" And the director was overcome with want and need etc and decided to call it a 'personal choice.'

Being overcome with want and need for DDK explains everything.
