Just poking my nose in. RL has picked up lately, but I'm still reading fannish stuff when I get the chance. It makes me sad that I find myself much less engaged by SGA, which also means fandom in general, because I'm a mono sort of fan. President Obama
I just had to type that out. I was at work and only caught part of President Obama's (okay, one more time) speech, but it gave me shivers. Beyond the overt text, I also loved his command and obvious enjoyment of language. This is a man acutely aware of the power of words and their layers of meaning, their historical significance. I've been fairly quiet on this journal lately, and I apologize for the lack of any writerly output. For some reason, my creative side still remains at a low idle. Maybe after all the holiday hoo-hah passes... -
I voted!
I took today off. I walked the dogs at 8:30, and saw that the line at my polling place was pretty short. Dropped the dogs off at home, went back, and was in and out in under an hour. Yay!
