I just had to type that out. I was at work and only caught part of President Obama's (okay, one more time) speech, but it gave me shivers. Beyond the overt text, I also loved his command and obvious enjoyment of language. This is a man acutely aware of the power of words and their layers of meaning, their historical significance. One line struck me in particular, words all the more powerful for their debt to Ben Franklin, over 200 years ago, "...we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals."

Hell, yeah.
