I Just finished installing a fresnel lens boiler and generation system as a back up and to save fuel. I have also installed a second accumulator for the Tesla gun, so that one will be charging while the gun is firing. I hope to eliminate the heart pounding delays before it can be fired again. The shed at Wolverhampton is a busy place these last few days. I received a roll of the strange cloth, as per our agreement from the textile consortium. I fear it may be the only sample in existence; their laboratory was destroyed in an explosion and fire the day after my cloth was shipped. I sold the clothing from the strange invader to a London textile consortium for a very tidy sum.  It is enough to square myself with Lord Farthing, well compensate the crew, and refit The Dragon for whatever explorations lay before us. Despite that my entire being is sure of its rightness, Arabella refuses me marriage. They made their way back to Siberia and circled the explosion point trying to reconnect with me. Weeks passed. Failure to "find" me, augmented with diminishing supplies, and fear of reconnecting with another ship full of strange men, lead them to abandon the area. What was a week's passage for me was months for those on the Dragon. Wondrous! In a mater of minutes, they were blown safely in the bubble  all of the way to Japan. Three temporal jumps today. Whatever the term" today" might mean. None featured the chronometer.
