Despite that my entire being is sure of its rightness, Arabella refuses me marriage. She says," Marriage is an evil institution invented by man for the enslavement of woman. and will probably be dissolved when women get the vote."  She is a modern woman and I love her strength, but I have never been so unsure of how to proceed in all my life.
