OOH. I'd replay the first game actually when you have to like organize their hotel room? Cause you can find a lot of inspirations from there.

:) I personally don't think Layton has a dark scheme. It actually got a very...idk how to explain it but "nostalgic"? Hahaha. This is a great idea actually and I might do the same myself when I have the time and money eugh HOLIDAYS.... ANYWAY. Sorry for the rambling. But ah. Let's see here.

-Cream, I think. Is a nice warm color that's also very classically feminine :) I think a cream rug (like in the game!) and maybe cream curtains will be absolutely adorable!
-A bright blue vase or something might add a pop of color! Hahaha. Like little Luke!
-And you can never go wrong with a nice lamp or a tea set. Both, I think are very classy and feminine.

Layton is set in a time akin to Victorian London so why don't you try shops like Laura Ashley and Etsy to see if you could find any trinkets that have a 'Layton' feel to them.

Wedgewood and Cath Kidston are also good for that look.

I'm not sure how much this might help, but I went ahead and created a sort of Layton color swatch for you so you can compare colors. I pulled the main colors from a selection of the characters so you can see how the palettes work together:

To me, the colors in the games are a muted palette. They are bright colors, but toned down to look desaturated, giving everything an almost romantic, Old World sort of feel. To me, the colors should look warm, not dark. I love looking at the game graphics!

If I was going to decorate a room in Layton colors, I'd choose brown, cream and blue as the dominant colors, with orange or red for bright accents. To see what I mean, take a look at the first few screenshots here. 8D

As for objects, Old World-styled lamps, clocks, furniture and lots of books. Vintage briefcases, in different sizes and stacked neatly in a corner or by a chair, can function both as a table and a point of interest. (Something like this.) The games feature a lot of architecture, so I would put up nicely framed prints of old buildings on the walls. If you want to be reminded of Remi, have flowers in vases. She loves them. If you want Luke-friendly vibes, how about a bowl of candy? If you can get a hold of a miniature car that looks like the Laytonmobile or maybe a ( ... )

I'm noticing a bit of a theme here with the muted, earthy colours and vintage materials. As such, I'm just going to suggest that you check out The Steampunk Home for some inspiration.

The reason I thought about this was the reference to having books and a set of stacked books creating a table, which is their latest entry.

As for clocks and gears and such, these may be small, but I was also reminded of Leviathan Steamworks since he seems to build some game-related metalwork, as well.
