To me, the colors in the games are a muted palette. They are bright colors, but toned down to look desaturated, giving everything an almost romantic, Old World sort of feel. To me, the colors should look warm, not dark. I love looking at the game graphics!

If I was going to decorate a room in Layton colors, I'd choose brown, cream and blue as the dominant colors, with orange or red for bright accents. To see what I mean, take a look at the first few screenshots here. 8D

As for objects, Old World-styled lamps, clocks, furniture and lots of books. Vintage briefcases, in different sizes and stacked neatly in a corner or by a chair, can function both as a table and a point of interest. (Something like this.) The games feature a lot of architecture, so I would put up nicely framed prints of old buildings on the walls. If you want to be reminded of Remi, have flowers in vases. She loves them. If you want Luke-friendly vibes, how about a bowl of candy? If you can get a hold of a miniature car that looks like the Laytonmobile or maybe a London bus miniature, it'd fit right in.

Have fun decorating! =)
