Ok, once again, I am amazed at the health care system here. Yesterday, Maya had a high fever and cough. She was peaking between 102F and 103F. We were at a friend's house and I didn't have the health insurance card with us...or even the girls' Korean id cards. But we had to take her to the doctor. On Thursday, October 5th, we took the girls to Lotte World, an amusement park here in Seoul. It is about 1/2 hour from our house by subway. And almost all of it is indoors, which is great because we can see ourselves coming here during the winter. We think that the next time we go, we'll get the year pass, since it is so close to our place. ( Read more... )

Ok, so I haven't posted much about what we did while my family was here. Last Saturday, June 3rd, we took them out to a Changdeokgung, or Changdeok Palace. It was a pretty hot day, and we got to the palace about an hour before the English tour. So, we had a quick lunch (sandwiches and kimbap) across the street at a mini mart.

This morning, it rained hard and we had thunder and lightning. Usually, I don't like rain at all, however, I realized later that my dislike before was because of the time of year it rains in LA, which is winter ( Read more... )

Our day didn't go exactly as planned. We left the house around 11:30am. Right away, the frustration started. We got outside and we were COLD.
