Such a heartwarming story! Shane and I made a pact when we first set up housekepping, that we would only hang original works -- most of the artwork we own is done by friends or family members since his dad and my best friend are artists, and several other friends are photgraphers. We got away from this a bit -- got lazy -- but I have already decided that we are going to re-embrace that ideal when we move.

The painting is beautiful -- and how sweet of him to personalize it! -- and will always be extra-special because of the memory that goes with it.
