the opera on friday night was fantastic. the counter tenor (a man who sings in a female register) was phenomenal. it's a very rare voice, but his role was written specifically for his register, and luckily he's talented to boot. he's also very young, which is rare in the world of opera -- but his voice is so unusual (counter tenor roles used to be ( Read more... )
