My baby boy has been in the frank breech presentation since about 30 weeks. We have tried sooo many things to get him to move (spinning babies, time in the pool every day, chiro adjustment etc etc) and it's just not happening. I am now 37 weeks. I had scheduled an ECV for last Thursday, they do an ultrasound beforehand to see if you're a good

If this isn't an option for you, insist on skin to skin in the or, stitches instead of staples, an incision that will allow you to vbac. Practice getting up by ruling on your side, and pushing yourself up, so your back muscles are less likely to get pulled. Have your support person informed of your wishes so you get to breastfed right away, etc.

In the end though... Make the choice that works for you. Not what you're told to do. Then don't have any guilt over it, because you will have made the best possible decision with the information you had. Because you will be the one living with the results.

I really feel that a breech birth is one of those instances where a cesarean is ok.
Thank you for the book recommendation!

The OB and practice that I see are the most 'natural' advocates in my city. There is one other OB in my city who will allow a breech birth to progress naturally but only under certain circumstances, his nurse told me that due to the fact that they think this baby is so big (particularly his head measurement) it is likely that I would end up with an emergency c-section anyway.

I was seriously devastated to have to schedule a c section, but I did not feel comfortable switching OB's to the one doctor in my state that delivers breech vaginally. I had an acquaintance who had done just that a week before labor, and after a horrible painful breech labor, ended up with a c section anyway.
I must say that my c section and recovery was SO much easier than I had anticipated. I don't have a vaginal birth to compare it to (hoping for a VBAC with the next one), but it was nothing like the horror stories you read online.
Either way, good luck, and ending up with a safe and healthy baby is the most important part!

I'm glad your recovery was easier than you thought it would be, I hope mine is too! I think having a positive attitude about the whole thing will help.

I really had very little pain after leaving the hospital, could go up and down stairs, had minimal bleeding, and my scar is way smaller than I expected.
