It's strange living so close to the east-west train line - it's actually quite noisy here - we get traffic noise from the Great Eastern Hwy and also non-stop trains all night long. How on earth do we humans have so much stuff to transport ( Read more... )

I've decided to homeschool, at least part time.

Next year is half time kindy for Sam... so we'll do 'school' on the other days too (to keep some routine going and to let me ease in to homeschooling full time).

The year after is preschool, and George is still at home, we'll see what happens that year - ideally Sam will part time (at least) go to ( Read more... )

So many little decisions. So many things that aren't quite what I thought they'd be but are correct/in the plans.  None of them disasterous or even difficult, just surprising because I have this one image of how the house will be then I walk around on site and am faced with it being different. I am not in the city where we could access all manner of awesome social, physical and creative activities for the kids.

Which is a BIG part of youth development too.
