Very worried...

Hi everyone,

Just got back from a big doctor appointment a few hours ago and am having some pregnancy complications.  It's really long, mostly since they told us a lot of stuff and it's still all swimming around in my head, and I'm hoping to get some support here, or experiences if you guys have been through this, etc...I'm 26w3d.
Brain ventricles, amniocentesis, waiting )

I have nothing to offer on this subject but support. You and your family are in my thoughts.

In most cases, stuff like this turns out to be nothing. Just like the doctor said, 90% chance it is nothing. I know it must be impossible at this point, but do what you can to relax until you find out.

You're in my thoughts.

Thank you--that's what I keep telling myself. 90% is still really good odds :)

Can't offer any advice, but wanted to give you some support ... this would be such an awful thing to have to deal with. As the post above me pointed out, though, the odds are in your favour. Try and focus on that for the time being to try and help get through this difficult time. Good luck *hugs*

Remembering the odds definitely helps...but this next week will be rough. 13 weeks feels like so much longer to go now!!

Just remember with each kick that she is reminding you that she is there :) focus on staying calm, the less stress for you and bub the better (and yes, I do speak from a position of being under major stress and trying to remain calm I know it's hard!)

Yeah, if it had just been Down Syndrome they were looking for, we wouldn't have done it. But if it's toxoplasmosis, there are treatments they can do while she's still in there to keep it from affecting her brain too much. Thanks for telling me about your experience--it makes me feel much better, although that must have been a terrible time for you!

I don't have much advice, but you and your family are in my thoughts.

I agree with what everyone else is saying though, too; in that the doctor said that there is a 90% chance it is nothing. It's important to stay positive though. Your stress can put stress on the baby.
