Definitely not. My heart beat is much much slower.

Definitely not. My heart beat is wayyy slower, like 90, and the baby's is closer to 150 something.

I would think so too- especially since I hear you get a lot sicker with two and I've never even thrown up once. (WANTED to!) I'm sure its just a weird sound/acoustical anomaly.

The placenta also has a pulsating sound similar to the heart beat, and especially if you are thin you might be hearing it.

Not thin, not the placenta. : ) Placenta sounds like my regular big slow heartbeat. This one is very fast, definitely a baby-fast heartbeat.

The placenta should sound like your babies heartbeat depending on where the baby is in perspective to it. I can normally find my son's heartbeat in more than one place. It depends on how you angle the transducer.

I didn't know that about the placenta- I always heard it should sound like the mothers heart beat! Interesting. Thanks!

I hear the heartbeat in different spots all over, too. Middle of abdomen in one and then way over to the right or left. I think it's just how sound travels through the placenta/amniotic fluid.

Okay, so maybe no big surprise. : ) Twins would be fun but... my GOD how expensive- TWO babies! Not to mention tiring. It's just odd that its not really "all over" but is actually in two specific spots..

Exhausting!! I can only have one and stay sane. ;)

I agree with this. There's definitely only one in there, but I heard the heartbeat in 2 different spots.

I'd bring it up and have the doc see if they find the spots/what they think ... It's hard to say. It could be but we also heard heartbeats in two places sometimes and just had one, don't know why.

Well, by the next time I go to the doc, its for the Big Ultrasound anyway, so if there ARE two, they'll show up there. : )
