At what point can I buy a doppler and expect to hear things? I'm getting paranoid and wanting to rent or purchase a fetal doppler so I can listen to the heartbeat at home.

Have you rented or bought a fetal doppler? Any brand/rental company you'd recommend, or tips and advice you can give me? I'm currently looking at a Stork Radio doppler.

I have an OB appointment tomorrow and I will be 11 weeks 2 days. I was wondering if it is likely we will be able to hear the babies heartbeat via doppler at the appointment.

Sorry for two posts in one day but I just got back from my first appt with my new doctor and towards the end of the appt I asked if I would be able to hear the heartbeat and she told me its still too early, and she didn't even try!! I bought a baby doppler the other day from Amazon.com. I don't know what got into me. For those of you who have dopplers at home..This may be a stupid question, but how do you know it is your baby's heart beat and not yours? I have never used or seen one before, but am thinking about getting one!
