Two questions but I guess I'm mostly looking for reassurance. (I put as many tags as I thought applied - sorry if I missed any, mods.) One of them just had a similar question posted but my situation is slightly different, and hey...I'm a paranoid prego ( Read more... )

I was 11w when I had my dating ultrasound, and other than baby waving once and jumping once, s/he didn't seem to be moving much at all. I assumed it was normal (and still assume as much)!

Our big ultrasound is August 11 - I will be 20w. But I know some ladies have theirs sooner.

I think every baby is different -- if your docs think the baby is fine then try your best to breathe easy (I know -- SO much easier said than done.) My little one was active at one u/s and at the next (the anatomy scan) and the ones after that she didn't want to do much of anything -- the tech poked and prodded and she refused to do anything other than squirm slightly. Even at 31 weeks, when I went for a keepsake ultrasound, she just couldn't be bothered to move, lol ( ... )

My baby was pretty chill all the way through my pregnancy. He moved around a lot, but he wasn't ever super duper hyper...just very easygoing. He turned five months old today. :)

I've had a bunch of u/s as well; I'm 15 weeks today. Baby is disinclined to partay down during an u/s. He'll wave ... eventually. (During my 9 week u/s, I kept waiting for him to move and he waited until I was just giving up to wiggle his hand.) Sometimes you get a halfhearted kick. Once or twice he has stretched. When they pushed down on my tummy, he gave a kind of startled jump/squirm that made me want to assign a "Dude! Not COOL!" to him.

The doctors are singularly unconcerned about this, although I share your twitchiness. Apparently baby will tend to be active when we're not and chillin' zen when we're in motion. I don't know about you, but I tend not to zen in the doctor's office.

Sugar is supposed to wake 'em up; try that, if you just need the flat out reassurance.
