That really sucks, I wish I had some useful advice to give you but if you ever wanna just talk to someone I'd be glad to talk via AIM, myspace (email) or regular email. I'm sorry you've had such a stressful pregnancy, I had a rough first trimester (not really due to morning sickness, other issues) but as far as the second I'm just sleepy and hormonal so I guess it's not really that bad. Oh well, I hope your next appointment goes well! Be sure to post the gender! Are you a member of the due date community?

If your cervix felt "slightly dilated" they should have done a transvaginal ultrasound (TVU) before releasing you from the hospital. If your cervix was dilated at 18 weeks you basically have two options... Either you get a rescue cerclage (they have a lot of risks if they're not put in before 16 weeks), or you should have been sent home on "expected management" (strict bedrest). It sounds to me like you have an incompetent cervix and you need to see a doctor ASAP before something terrible happens. I have an incompetent cervix and ended up being dilated and my water breaking at 22 weeks with my first pregnancy. It really comes without any warning sometimes. Please get a second opinion and a transvaginal ultrasound to measure your cervix ASAP!
