LJ policy clarification

Livejournal and Six Apart have clarified their position regarding underage works of art here.

This will obviously affect posts in pornish_pixies. At the moment I'm considering several options and I'll let you guys know hopefully by tomorrow how things might change here. My utmost concern at the moment is to protect the artists and writers in the community and I

I'll be needing volunteers to help check ages towards the end of this week. :)

I'm trying to give everyone a bit of time to get back from Prophecy and get sorted before we dive into age checking, but I'll probably be putting up a post begging asking for volunteers to help check a page or so of comments for age statements in the userinfos...

I thought the age statement was an either/or thing? My date of birth is in my profile, and I don't want to steal comment space from others not wanting to give their date of birth by making an age statement there if I don't have to.

No, we need it both places. I'll be using the list of comments there to use to run a check against userinfos. If we need additional comment space, I'll open another post. :)

Also, in userinfos, I don't need a date of birth, per se for those who don't want to list their DOB. Just some sort of statement that says you're 18 or older.
