I had a small nose bleed the there night and get blood on my mattress. Of course I didnt realize it till last night when I was getting ready for bed. There are two little spots the size of a dime or so that bleed through the sheets onto the mattress. What is a good way to remove blood from a mattress?

So tonight I did a very stupid thing and didn't pay attention while cooking and now I have a pan with Tuna Helper scorched to the bottom of it. It's one of those big huge pots that costs way to much to replace though and I currently don't have the money to go drop $50.00 on a new pan...so I'm hoping someone here has a cheap remedy for getting the ( Read more... )

I'm considering forgoing paper towels entirely and switching to fabric napkins/wipe cloths. I want to cut and hem them from bolt fabric. Any suggestions regarding fabric type/color? I want to take into account absorbency, stain-hiding (color), and general attractiveness. Thank you ( Read more... )

I forgot to buy dishwasher detergent tonight and with the foot+ of snow now dancing its way out of the sky, I doubt I'll be able to go out  to pick some up. While I can handwash, I'm wondering if I can come up with a quick substitution for now. Would vinegar be enough to get them clean? Or could I pour baking soda in the soap dispenser instead? I have a set of Bialetti non-stick pots and pans from Target. I've noticed that although I thoroughly wash the pans with hot soapy water after cooking and let them completely dry before putting them away (at which time they don't smell and there aren't any scratches on the non-stick surface grabbing onto food remnants), the smells of food come out ( Read more... )
