I went for a walk tonight after dinner and I saw a shooting star. I have never before seen one and it was completely unexpected. I looked up at the sky, just to look at the stars, and I saw a meteor whoosh by. It was pretty cool. I had forgotten there were meteor showers tonight (thanks to Google's logo today ( Read more... )

Rafa will return to competitive tennis next Monday at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. VAMOS!!!

(He's the defending champ but I hope he goes there with no pressure. Just play your best Rafa! )

Way past bedtime and I meant to work on some fic for the Spring Fever challenge over at pulped_fictions and totally did not do it. Sigh. I have 3 days till deadline and while the idea is hot in my head, I'm having trouble writing it in word form. Can't I just act it out? Or do a screenplay? I guess I could. Or not.

I'm gutted. Truly and totally gutted that Rafa's pulled out due to his knee injury from Wimbledon. I knew it was coming, I hoped for it 'cos I didn't want him to hurt his knees more than they already do, but still. I'm sad.

And there you have it. Straight sets over Soderling and he gets his 14th Slam title. Career slam now too since he got the elusive French Open title.

I'm just happy Roland Garros is over. What a spectacularly hideous tournament. And now I hear Rafa's right knee is not well at all and he might miss Wimbledon.

Just watched match point of last year's Wimbledon final and the look on Roger Federer's face is of utter devastation (understandably). And I was thinking to myself, you know, Rafa's loss at RG today is nothing compared to Fed's loss last year.
