Today we are in the middle of a terrifying storm system. My 8am appointment to see the doctor got canceled yesterday afternoon in anticipation of the storm's ugliness and when we woke up this morning there was a 1/2" crust of ice over everything outside. Broke out my new sewing machine last night and Adam and I fiddled with it for hours, taking turns. I figured out how to thread it, he figured out better ways to adjust things, and we worked together to make Deli a little sleeper sack/dress out of squishy warm brown fleece. Uuugh, what the hell? My paycheck is about $100 short. I was really jazzed to get up this morning and check it online since it's direct deposited and oh, hey, it's way less than I thought. I worked either 53 or 56 hours, I forgot to write down whether I worked a call in shift, but either way.. the math doesn't add up. My paycheck is for, max, 37 ( Read more... ) -

I want to sew. I really, really do. I'm not sure why. I've always liked to hand sew but now I want to do bigger projects than just adding appliques to a skirt or making small purses and clutches. My mum has a sewing machine but I know she paid a decent amount of money for it. Maybe when I visit this weekend she'll let me lug it home and borrow it ( Read more... ) -

Today is going great. Adam stayed home from class and we hung out, we've been apart a lot lately and busy and it was nice to just be together with the kids and not stress. Been crafty today! I painted on both doorways off the living room- the doorway leading to our bedroom/ollie's room/the bathroom is multi leveled and the inside is yellow and the outside is orange. Neat! The other doorway leading to the dining room is a nice candy green with orange/green striped molding because I am ridiculous. Also plotted out with ( Read more... ) -
can't sleep again
I've been reading knitting blogs for hours now. Seriously. I took a nap this afternoon while Ollie did and Adam got him up and didn't wake me up so I slept way too long (3 hours!) but felt so much better.
