I commented that The Case for Democracy by Natan Sharansky was the first polisci book I remember to actually posit a falsifiable hypothesis. A friend of mine has been writing poetry, which has taken me back to when I was in High School and only a 30 year old man. My favorite poems are Decir: Hacer by Octavio Paz and Romance Sonambulo by Federico Garcia Lorca. (Only the second one has a translation. My translation of Decir: Hacer will follow.) This one reminds me of Paz.

One thing I have noticed recently:

To have drama in your life, you have to create drama in your life. Drama doesn't just come along and bite you in the ass. You buy a ticket, go sit down, pay really close attention and get involved in the suspense.

I go food shopping every never and I end up eating about half of what I buy before it spoils. So, I have become a big fan of jars, cans and preservatives. I love modern technology that has given us all these beautiful pesticides and preservatives.
