Home Economics

First of all, I have no idea why cooking is called home economics...I will probably ask Mr. Internet later.

Anyway, I went grocery shopping. To say that there were bargains would be an incredible understatement. It wasn't like you look at what they have as specials and think, "hmmmmm....let me try that." It was more along the lines of, "I need X. Ok, it is half off." I ended up buying sirloin steak because it was the cheapest thing in the meat department. The chocolate cookies that I always eye thinking they aren't possibly worth being twice the price of the stuff I usually buy...yup, I am eating them right now. They are so chocolaty, I literally had to stop when I ran out of milk and never went on sale before.

It was ridiculous. I can't decide whether the prices dropped because Vons is worried about being able to move product/needs cash or whether people are eating out less so the grocery business has become more competitive. Or both. In any case, I do not mind.
