Hiro had left for a few weeks to find any way to get home. With his ability, he could go places no one else could reach easily, but even doing that had failed to turn up anything of any use.

He had only returned a few hours ago - or so he thought - to find the city empty of anyone. Had his ability left them all behind? Was he, perhaps, many years in the future, the only survior? Or, perhaps, the only one left behind while everyone else had been sent home.

"Hello?!" His voice was almost hoarse from yelling, but so far no one had answered.

Helena had been walking for some time, just trying to determine what it was she was going to do. Before she would just storm the castle, but this wasn't her territoy. This wasn't her dream. She had passed a few partially phased and had even seen familiar faces in the distance. Maybe not all hope was lost.

It was when she turned down one of the major streets and didn't see anyway that it all started to really hit home, if it hadn't already.

She did, however, hear a voice from one of the connecting streets. Someone calling out. She turned down an alley and proceeded into the connecting street to see a youngish man calling out. He was the only person on the street aside from herself.

"Hullo?" She called back, not sure if that person was all there or not.

"At last! A person!" Hiro runs up to her, looking very confused and entirely lost. "What has happened?"

She blinks at him curiously. He's obviously fully pahsed. Nothing about him seems to stike her as incompetant and unawares, although he doesn't seem to have been here for a while... or, like her, he had been in hiding and just hadn't noticed what was going on.

Then it was his question. Long version or short version. She'd try short first.

"A Queen has been phased onto The Ring. She's taking over this land with her shadows and... I don't know what has happened to all the people, but I'm sure she has something to do with it."

She continued to watch his reactions. He seemed nice enough.

"I'm Helena. Helena Campbell. Who are you?"

The red clad hunter was there again today. He'd been here once before with a friend but that had proven a faulty lapse in judgment so now he was here alone. He'd been here for some time, and would remain for some time to come if he had anything to say about it. He was hunting. Always hunting.

But now was time for a break. Dante sat looking rather comfy on a low rooftop, his legs dangling off the side while he leaned back on his arms for support. His eyes seemed closed for all intents and purposes but truthfully they were slit just enough for him to keep an eye out. His senses were on high alert, too. As relaxed and at ease as he appeared he was nothing if not astute; he was paying close attention to his surroundings as he knew exactly what sort of place he was in.

He waited until the girl was near his building before making himself obvious with a bit of noise. Although with his red coat he was kinda obvious in the first place.

Helena hadn't noticed the man sitting above her until she heard an odd rustling sound above her, which, for whatever reason, caught her attention. She looked up above her and saw a man in a... cape? No, coat. Red coat. Red everything. She couldn't quite tell if his eyes were open or not and he was a bit of a ways up there.

She considered saying hi. She also considered the "keep walking" option.

She would say Hi. It was in her nature. She couldn't really help it.

"Hullo there...?"

"You look familiar there, doll," he said down to the passing girl, his tone a little on the snide side. Still, he wasn't being offensive in any noticeable way just yet. But damn if he didn't recognize her despite the clean-up.

His eyes opened slowly and yet seemed to come to focus on her all at once, the intense blue irises staring down at her as if he could see through her and into her soul. Maybe he was... who knew?

Suddenly he shifted position to lean forward with his arms on his legs and his stare only intensifying as his lips curled upwards in a dark smirk. "Hope you're not lost in your own shadow, girlie."

Helena looked up at the man now... was he glaring at her? It was an intense stare whatever it was. Funny though, he didn't look familiar at all. So the guy was either a creep, especially since he called her "girlie" or... maybe he really was just a creep ( ... )

Cissie had definitely taken a wrong turn somewhere. This was not a part of town she wanted to be in, by herself and without her bow. It was empty and cold and she couldn't help feeling it was all Wrong somehow. She shoved her hands in her pockets and kept her head down as she walked, looking around her surreptitiously.

She had just about given up when she saw someone else. She looked more closely and recognized Helena with surprise. She hadn't seen her since Quatre helped unlock her memories of where they had met and what had happened there. Realizing that eight months of her life had just been forgotten had really thrown her for a loop, but as much as that bothered her, knowing she had forgotten the friends she made there hurt more. Friends like Helena. Part of Cissie was thrilled to see her--she hadn't expected to ever see her again--but another, larger part of her mourned seeing her friend here, in this world. She had hoped that Helena was back home, with her family and Valentine.

But Helena was here, and Cissie had ( ... )

Helena's mind was racing. Things were happening all over the place, people were still very obviously here, just not many. She had a little more hope concerning the continued existence of this place, even if that meant just long enough for everyone to get home... but she was still distressed and it showed ( ... )

Despite everything, Cissie couldn't help but grin when Helena jumped and ran over. She picked up her pace, running to meet her halfway and hug her. "Hi! You're here!" She pulled back, giving her a sad smile. "I'm sorry you're here, but I'm so happy to see you."

Helena couldn't help but squeeze her as tight as she was able. When she pulled back as Cissie did she wore a grin from ear to ear. Finally, a familiar and friendly face.

She hadn't seen one of those in quite some time.

"I know. I'm glad you're here too. I would much rather prefer that we should both be at home, but I am happy to see you. Speaking of, what are you doing here? How long have you been here?"

Jeremie didn't have as much control as XANA over their shared electrostatic abilities, but it was certainly enough to circle his hand with purple lightning to light his way. The darkness of this place was getting larger.

He saw a girl standing there by herself. She didn't seem to be armed in any way. Then again, she could be one of those who had other abilities.

She'd probably notice his small, crackling light anyway, so he called out to her. "Hello?"

XANA seemed to rouse a bit but did nothing, simply observing as was its want.

Helena had seen the purple light in the darkness and had neared it in curiousity and stopped when it called out to her.

"Hullo?" she called back.

She couldn't really see who or what it was that was controlling the purple sparks. Or maybe the light was the entity itself. Wouldn't be the first time she'd seen something to that effect.

She waited patiently for the approaching light to respond.

Jeremie approached, hand still raised up to be about level with his face. His head tilted to one side as he walked up to this strange girl.

He wasn't sure how to greet her. Talking to girls had never really been his strong point.

"Um...hi," he said nervously, the purple electricity casting odd shadows as it sparked and crackled.

Helena stared at the light, examining it. She quickly turned her gaze back to the source, however, and again greeted the character before her.

"Hullo. I'm Helena... who are you?"

Roy was just walking back from visiting Lian, his daughter for a few days, he had missed her constantly and jumped at the chance when Dick had told him he was able to step through the piece of New York City he had unknowingly brought with him.

Dressed in civvies the red-headed man just looked like a normal New Yorker and not the superhero he actually was, but it was his sense of good manners that made him stop.

"Are you alright miss?" He asked conserned about the distressed looking woman.

Helena peered up from behind her bangs and moving her hair aside took a glance at the new stranger coming her way. He didn't look at all familiar to her.

"Hullo... " Helena peered at him for a moment, he looked nice enough... "I'm alright. Thanks for asking."

Helena's British accent came out more than ever in the silence, bouncing off the walls of this ridiculously silent place. She thought about saying something else but she just didn't know what to say.

"You sure? I mean you look like you need a tall stiff drink." Roy said walking over to her.

He hadn't seen her around the station before and he knew he would have remembered someone with a wonderful accent like hers.

"Why don't I buy you a drink and you can tell me what's bothering you."

Helena smiled a bit at this new stranger before her. He was a bit of fresh air for her. She had run into so many old faces, and though it had been a relief to know that everyone was generally okay (though they were stuck here) this place and her memories had been getting to her in the worst ways possible. She had forgotten how to relax, though a part of her rebelled against it.

Maybe something to drink would help.

"Maybe just a soda or something..." She was going out on a limb here, but she was willing to try something new.

"I'm Helena, by the way. Helena Campbell." She extended her hand in greeting.
