Hiro had left for a few weeks to find any way to get home. With his ability, he could go places no one else could reach easily, but even doing that had failed to turn up anything of any use.

He had only returned a few hours ago - or so he thought - to find the city empty of anyone. Had his ability left them all behind? Was he, perhaps, many years in the future, the only survior? Or, perhaps, the only one left behind while everyone else had been sent home.

"Hello?!" His voice was almost hoarse from yelling, but so far no one had answered.

Helena had been walking for some time, just trying to determine what it was she was going to do. Before she would just storm the castle, but this wasn't her territoy. This wasn't her dream. She had passed a few partially phased and had even seen familiar faces in the distance. Maybe not all hope was lost.

It was when she turned down one of the major streets and didn't see anyway that it all started to really hit home, if it hadn't already.

She did, however, hear a voice from one of the connecting streets. Someone calling out. She turned down an alley and proceeded into the connecting street to see a youngish man calling out. He was the only person on the street aside from herself.

"Hullo?" She called back, not sure if that person was all there or not.

"At last! A person!" Hiro runs up to her, looking very confused and entirely lost. "What has happened?"

She blinks at him curiously. He's obviously fully pahsed. Nothing about him seems to stike her as incompetant and unawares, although he doesn't seem to have been here for a while... or, like her, he had been in hiding and just hadn't noticed what was going on.

Then it was his question. Long version or short version. She'd try short first.

"A Queen has been phased onto The Ring. She's taking over this land with her shadows and... I don't know what has happened to all the people, but I'm sure she has something to do with it."

She continued to watch his reactions. He seemed nice enough.

"I'm Helena. Helena Campbell. Who are you?"

Hiro bows. "I am Hiro Nakamura. Can this Queen's shadows turn buildings into dust?" What she described - it sounded like what happened with the Joker and Harley Quinn held New York, sort of, hostage.

She thought about it for a moment. "Yes. She does have that capability. Why do you ask?"

"She was working with a villain called The Joker. She caused a few buildings to crumble to dust. However, I did not see her again. How do we fight her? How can we stop her?"

He doesn't want this world to fall to dust. Until he gets back to Earth, it's home. He's not certain if the Legion is still there, but he should probably contact them to see if they're able to help.

"How much of the city is left?"

"She was working with the Joker?! No way! She couldn't possibly.. oh.. OH! That would explain a few things."

Helena looked a bit perplexed for a moment and then obviously having a revelation asks this of Hiro.

"Did.. the woman you saw. The one working with the Joker... was she taller a bit taller than me, black eyes, hair stnading straight up and in a long flowing dress? Or... did she look more like me but with black eyes?"

Hiro will probably notice the similarities between the facial features of her and the Princess. If he didn't then that meant that somewhere along the way, while she had been gone, The Queen as well as her daughter were in league with The Joker... one of them was bad enough, but both?

"What things?"

He feels a little uncomfortable under such an intense stare, but he says quietly, "I believe so. I cannot say for certain, though. I did not pay much attention to her. I was a bit more concerned with the things she threw at us. Are you sisters?" Good witch/bad witch? But he doesn't speak that part aloud. After all, if she is related, she may not be happy having a stranger call her sister evil.

"No!" Helena was quick to disband the idea of her and The Princess being sisters. The last thing she needed was every good person on The Ring believing her to be The Princess' sister.

"I know her, and she looks like me, but we are not friends or sisters in any way."

Then it was still just The Princess in league with The Joker. They'd obviously found each other once again. It came as no surprise to Helena that he should be here, too. The Joker would not find her again, though, if she could help it.

Helena looked around. "The city is still... well, it's still a city, not all the buildings are destroyed they're just being ... changed about a bit. You see, the mother of the girl you met is here now. She's taking over this world..."

Helena's features sunk a bit.

"Is she you from another dimension?" That would definitely explain the similar appearances.

Of course, he really shouldn't push, after all, she's pretty upset finding these people doing this to the city, but his curiosity is itching too much.

"She destroyed some buildings before. Not this, but turned them to dust. Has this woman taken over the world computer?"

"No, she's not from another dimension... well not really. I mean- It's hard to explain. You see, I draw things. And by mistake everything selfish and ridiculous about who I used to be created her and put her in the world I had drawn."

She hesitated to push forward because she knew how absurd she sounded, but at the same time she'd told this story so many times before she was used to the odd glances, the shifty eyes that followed, the raised eyebrows, etc.

"...and I created the Queen, her mother, but I didn't know they were real... I thought I was just drawing... They were only supposed to be real in my dreams but they've become even more real than that now and The Queen has come here. She's taking over this world..."

Helena looked around her to think about his last question... "I haven't seen anything in the complex... so I don't really know if she's gotten to the computer but I can't be certain."

"That is an interesting ability." He isn't giving her a weird look nor patronizing her. "Perhaps your drawings actually were views of another universe? You thought you were having dreams, but perhaps they were actually glimpses of this other place."

"If you do not see something, does that mean they do not know of it or have not seen it?"

Helena tilted her head a bit, her brows furrowing together a bit. "What do you mean?"

Aside from the question that she couldn't quite understand she was thankful to note that he didn't seem too surprised nor did he seem to think she was crazy when she told him her story.

"There are thousands of dimensions or futures. I know this because I have been to a number. It may be that you have some kind link with the dimension this Queen comes from and you have had it for a long time. You thought it was just a dream, but perhaps it was not just a dream." He knows it sounds a bit nuts to someone who hasn't considered the possibility, but he really thinks this could be her connection to these people.

Helena had considered that thought and had tried to explain it to others, even herself, but had never succeeded in explaining it as neatly as he just had.

Slowly nodding she began to smile.

"I think you're right. I'm not sure how or why, but I think you could have something there... is there any way to cut the connection? I mean... what if the connection is me?"

Helena had thought this part through as well. She was possible that she was the connection with Nodnol... with the Princess. She knew that no matter what you did to Princess she would live on, keep coming back. As soon as she had gotten a taste of the outside world the first time, she would never give it up.

Helena, after a year or two of really thinking about it had finally realized what the book was talking about. A book she had found in the library in Nodnol had read "...and the city would never be finished because the city was her life and her dream..." The city was hers... it would never end until she was gone.
