Cissie had definitely taken a wrong turn somewhere. This was not a part of town she wanted to be in, by herself and without her bow. It was empty and cold and she couldn't help feeling it was all Wrong somehow. She shoved her hands in her pockets and kept her head down as she walked, looking around her surreptitiously.

She had just about given up when she saw someone else. She looked more closely and recognized Helena with surprise. She hadn't seen her since Quatre helped unlock her memories of where they had met and what had happened there. Realizing that eight months of her life had just been forgotten had really thrown her for a loop, but as much as that bothered her, knowing she had forgotten the friends she made there hurt more. Friends like Helena. Part of Cissie was thrilled to see her--she hadn't expected to ever see her again--but another, larger part of her mourned seeing her friend here, in this world. She had hoped that Helena was back home, with her family and Valentine.

But Helena was here, and Cissie had ( ... )

Helena's mind was racing. Things were happening all over the place, people were still very obviously here, just not many. She had a little more hope concerning the continued existence of this place, even if that meant just long enough for everyone to get home... but she was still distressed and it showed ( ... )

Despite everything, Cissie couldn't help but grin when Helena jumped and ran over. She picked up her pace, running to meet her halfway and hug her. "Hi! You're here!" She pulled back, giving her a sad smile. "I'm sorry you're here, but I'm so happy to see you."

Helena couldn't help but squeeze her as tight as she was able. When she pulled back as Cissie did she wore a grin from ear to ear. Finally, a familiar and friendly face.

She hadn't seen one of those in quite some time.

"I know. I'm glad you're here too. I would much rather prefer that we should both be at home, but I am happy to see you. Speaking of, what are you doing here? How long have you been here?"

Cissie nodded, unable not to smile back and be happy to see her friend. She wrinkled her nose, making a face when Helena asked about her time here. "I wish I knew. It's been a few months, I guess. I've been trying to figure out how to get home, but so far, no luck. How long have you been here? Did you get to go home at all?" Cissie had--where she had lost all of her memories of her time away and had to relive eight months of her life before showing up here. It still bothered her, to know that her memories had been tampered with.

"As far as I can remember... Where we came from... the war ended. I was digging graves, and then I went back to the church to clean the place up. I was so releived it was over. Maybe some time passed between going there and coming here... but I never made it back home. I don't remember every little detail, but I know I never made it back home. I was taken and brought here ( ... )

Cissie nodded as Helena talked, frowning. Even if her memories had been taken from her, she had at least been able to go home for a while before coming here. She reached over and squeezed Helena's arm. "I'm sorry. It doesn't seem fair, being dragged here so soon. Or at all. I wish you'd been able to go home, even for a little while."

Helena smiled a fragile but stern smile back.

"It'll be alright. I'll just have to make the best of it." And she would do her best to see it all through. It was her way.

"So, what are you doing out here? Were you headed anywhere?" If that was the case, Helena would be more than happy to accompany her anywhere.
