he used to be so awesome

It's Friday, and I'm bored, and JC has been giving too many interviews in which he says conflicting things and only reinforces my belief that he has absolutely no plans to release music anytime soon. So let's talk about it ( Read more... )

I always thought JC had the prettiest voice in the band. It's really too bad that he feels he's gotten the bad breaks, or whatever, but when it comes down to it -- success is all about promotion and selling yourself. And Justin, for all that his voice is reedy and his songs and movies are stupid sometimes, really REALLY knows how to do that. So what you said about JC being an adult and needing to suck it up? Yes yes YES.

He really does need to grow some balls and suck it up and take some fucking risks. I love his voice, and I think he's super talented, but that's not enough in the days of autotune when you've got Rihannas and Chris Browns everywhere. What Justin lacks in vocal talent he more than makes up for in promotion and the ability to sell himself. Justin is charming and funny in interviews while managing to only give exactly as much information as he wants you to have. JC... can't give a good interview to save his LIFE. And part of me thinks it's just because he's not trying and he's not willing to play the game.

He's like that alternate on the cheerleading sqaud who knows she could choreograph so much cooler routines but she's so OVER the whole cheer thing and maybe she should've joined the flag corps instead.

I kind of want to write that now. It would not be very kind to JC, though :P

Well you know. It used to be 'jc is awesome' but I had to change that a few months ago. I consider it his punishment for being so full of fail, that anyone who comes to my journal sees the biggest tag in the sidebar and *knows* that jc is made of fail :P

:P I don't even have money to give! But if he would offer something up... except now, because of the alien thing. Sigh.

“Are you an alien?”

JC glances at his phone, making sure he had read the display correctly. “Um, what?”

“Are you an alien? Taylor says she read on the internet that some of your fans think you are, and I have to say, man, it’s almost believable.”

JC shakes his head, even though Chris totally can’t see him, and says, “You know, it’s discriminatory to generalize like that. Why do you think aliens are different from the rest of us? They’re actually probably more normal than some of us ( ... )

YOU WIN. Especially for use of the word 'Lancey'.

I think Jive still has some rights over his songs and that would suck because probably we won't ever hear the ones he did with Justin and Timbaland. Anyway, I want to bitch more about it, but I have to run now. I'll be back. LOL

Supposedly they don't. Anyway, we know that he's rerecorded some stuff and done a LOT of new stuff.

I'm starting to think we just assumed they didn't have any rights because of that printed interview were they said JC was taking Kite with him. It's one thing when you are allowed to take the record with you, another saying Jive don't have any rights left. Just Timbaland's work on that album could be worth more than a million dollars, add that studio time, other producers, musicians, technicians, etc. I really doubt they gave up ALL their rights, something like that doesn't happen ever! It's like when Nsync took their name with them, but still had to add the name of the old label on shit and pay rights on old records.

That's the only reason I can imagine why he started working on a whole new reocrd.

I dunno what the legal ramifications are when you leave a record company but I can't imagine they let him go without some stipulation ( ... )

It used to be said that JC was pretty insecure... I wonder if he hasn't quite lost that yet. It's a shame because his voice is just incredible. I hate when I want to give people money and they don't seem to want to put out an album for me to buy! LOL.

I find myself rolling my eyes and groaning when people ask, over and over and over 'where is your album?' or ' are we gonna hear songs from your album on this season of ABDC?' because, sadly, I almost don't care anymore. I never really paid attention to him when NSYNC was big... heard a few songs from Schizo (2 yrs too late) and got interested when I heard he was recording another album...and I'd have never found that out if he wasn't on Lance's Myspace page. That was when Lance came out, 2 yrs ago.

I don't have a very long span of attention, and this is probably the longest I've waited for an album to be released. My interest is rapidly decreasing. I love the guy but... I feel like I am standing outside the doors of a club that isn't opening. Ever. Awkward and stupid... you know?

No, that's totally what it is. I'm just SO FRUSTRATED. And I feel like I'm more frustrated now than I was when he was with JIVE because at least then, we had someone to blame for the delays and things. Now he's got no one telling him they want a product from him, no deadlines, no timetables. I don't think we'll ever see it.
