he used to be so awesome
It's Friday, and I'm bored, and JC has been giving too many interviews in which he says conflicting things and only reinforces my belief that he has absolutely no plans to release music anytime soon. So let's talk about it.
Ways in Which JC's Logic Does Not Resemble Our Earth Logic:
1) he doesn't do it for the money, and yet he won't release independently. This from the guy who helped start Music Freedom? DOES NOT COMPUTE.
2) His album is finished. We know this. Dallas has said this, JC has said this. He used to give us some sort of hopeful timeline like, "I hope to have it out by the end of the year" but now it's "when the stars align," which we should all know by now is code for, "pretty much never."
3) He hates doing the popstar bullshit of promo and kissing up and all that, but he's still stuck on this idea that he needs to sign to a label to release an album? DOES NOT COMPUTE.
4) By that same logic, we know he has his album done and he's been fixing it and recording new stuff over the last year. So what would the point of a label even BE? It's not like any amount of promo is going to have JC blowing up to la Timberlake-like status, and he's already done his own A&R. The recordings are paid for. So a label? Would be next to useless for him. Again with the non-computation.
5) He said a few weeks ago that he could never choose between dancing, singing, and writing because music is his soul blah blah, you know what I mean. He says he loves performing and would do a show in Alaska for three people if that's how it turned out. So, what--is he just LYING? If he loves performing so much, why isn't he doing it?
6) Some people think maybe he's scared or gun shy or whatever from being burned so many times in the industry. Which, okay, sure, that's understandable. Except that he's an adult and if this is what he really wants, he has to take a chance at some point. You can't be an artist and play it safe all the time.
7) And finally, what the fuck is up with his clothing lately? That shirt last night. MAN. And the weird vests with zippers everywhere. Do you guys realize it's been almost two years since he last sang in public? And the most we can hope for (according to HIM) in the near future is more TV crap where we don't get to hear full songs or have the chance to download anything? I am TRYING to give this man some money! WTF is wrong with him? Oh, that's right, he's an alien. His logic SUCKS.
Okay, I'm done venting. I'm just so frustrated. I thought I had come to terms with never hearing new music from him or seeing him perform live (*sadface*) but apparently being reminded of that by JC himself just pisses me off. I'm not over it. Damnit.
