Hey, I'm still writing that thing that I'm writing, but I'm having trouble getting the boys to shut up. Seriously, they will not. Stop. Talking. Does anyone want to read chatty sex? Because right now it's in danger of reading like this:

Wilson cast an appreciative glance over House's naked body. "Who would win in a fight," he asked, "Batman or Hal ( Read more... )

I fucking love Batman. I swear, Wilson is so wrong about this one.

Yvi's pool story had that Aquaman line, which was awesome, and I've decided to try and include a superhero conversation in every fic I write from now on. Unless it REALLY doesn't work, like if it's a Bible AU or something (still though, David and Goliath were basically superheroes, right? Strongman and The Slingshot Boy, or something).

I think I'll carry on down this road. All I can be is myself.

Ah, I heart that icon. It is my all-purpose 'what is this shit?' icon.

I agree, I'm just worried that it'll be distracting. I mean, I'm not convinced of my smutty prowess as it is, so adding a load of random dialogue might not be helpful. Then again, going against instinct would probably be even worse, so...

THEY WERE GETTING DOWN TO IT AND THEN HOUSE WAS ALL LIKE "BLAH BLAH BLAH MARLON BRANDO" AND WILSON WAS LIKE "OLD MARLON BRANDO? EW" AND I WAS LIKE "STFU YOU GUYS"

I've had sex at the Omaha Zoo, a little superhero discussion is nothing.

Okay. You know you can't say stuff like that and then not tell the story, right?

Haha, fair enough.

My ex and I visited there one weekend (it's only a couple hours from Iowa State, where I went to college until last December). We'd seen the rest of the zoo, then went to the Rainforest area, which has monkeys and such. It was after 5, and the zoo closed at 7, but we didn't know that the Rainforest closed at 5. So, we were alone. It was kinda romantic in a Tarzan way. The end.

Which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "makin' monkey butter".

Good story.

Batman is NOT overrated, I don't care what Wilson thinks, he probably knows all the words to "In The Navy" and cannot therefore be expected to judge art rationally.

But I think dialogue works during sex. Especially if it's two characters like House and Wilson; their conversations in the show are already like foreplay, can't see how that wouldn't carry over into the actual physical deed.

I talk during sex, anyway. Not dirty talk; I've probably had that conversation you wrote above. I date comic book nerds, what?

Agh. I am so torn between agreeing that Batman is awesome, because he totally is, and defending poor Wilson. You have cleft my heart in twain.

I feel emboldened by all the dialogue loving. And totally relieved, because getting rid of it all would have left a huge vacuum in my fic, which was finally starting to actually come together, kind of.

I've probably had that conversation you wrote above.

That makes me unaccountably happy. I was really hoping somebody would have.

The whole reason this guy was interested in me was because he saw me with a stack of comic books in the Borders he was working in. He got all pissed off because I left them on the table instead of putting them back, until he noticed that they were all Batman, X-Men, and Preacher.
What the hell else were we going to talk about?

Haha. Was he a hot comic-book nerd? Because I've heard that they exist.
