That's because it was bad writing - given Rose had already seen Nine regenerate into Ten and liked the later Doctor better...
but I like how you've managed to make it into something more substantial, namely a big crack in their relationship. (That having been said, I've never thought Rose was pure aweseomesauce. She wasn't a TV Mel, but...)
Thanks. I just couldn't see their relationship working out well if they persisted in it...

That is still the funniest line in the story to me! Hee!
It's been a week since I read this part and looking at it fresh now I can say that all the little "hints" of things to come are very perfectly and subtly hidden in plain sight! Well done!

Heh. It's caused quite a bit of amusement, so far...

Also, his spacing out to remember is great! I love it. And he's sleeping on the couch! Too cute! Adeola was her twin sister? Brilliant!
And the REAL Rose Tyler has shown herself! So made of awesome!
Okay, I'll stop telling you all of my favorite parts because I'll end up going over the entire thing, which, let's face it, you already know! I love it! I look forward to the next part!

This was really good and I can't wait to read more. Rose is admittedly a bit OTT in this, but then, isn't she always? I always felt so bad for Handy in JE when, just after kissing him, she ran after the dematerializing TARDIS. I knew it could only really go downhill from there. I mean, yes, Handy looks like the Doctor, but he isn't -- he's some weird amalgam of the Doctor, Donna, and his own self. I hate stories that forget about that aspect of himself and I am glad that you didn't shy away from the inherent inner struggle that poor guy must have. I can only imagine that would make his relationships really difficult -- especially if Rose is expecting some sort of carbon-copy of the Doctor to grow old with (which honestly, that also assumes he hasn't had any emotional growth since she left, but with the exception of the weird reset-ness of the finales, he has changed -- which is honestly part of why I think he dropped her off in the alt_verse for no apparent reason in the first place: he'd moved on ( ... )
