Awesome very different from most Alt!Martha and Handy. Love the way he is not getting along with Rose.

Although this has given me the idea of an Alt!Martha and Handy which I hope I can find some where. Have you seen any where Handy runs into Alt!Martha but she recognize him as the Doctor only she is thinking of her universe's Doctor.

Actually no, I haven't. Most people seem to assume he doesn't exist in Pete's World...

I wonder what happen to that universes Doctor. Where was he during the Cyberman incident. How are his relationship to his companions. How things were different with no Rose there to travel with before.

I don't know. I think most people have assumed the Doctor didn't exist there because he wasn't there during Lumic's shenanigans... It'd be interesting if someone wrote it though...

Wow, I really feel for Handy (erupts in guffaws and gigglies) Anywhoo, I really feel for him and am glad he does have small comforts in the form of Tony and Jackie (who you've made awesome!). Rose is an absolute selfish little girl who needs to get over herself. No wonder John is prone to fits of rage. Hopefully altMartha's presence in his life can help him deal with that and everything else.

As I recced to RadiantBaby, you too should make the AltTen and AltMartha a regular couple with their own series.

Already in the pipeline. I've got a shorter Xmas-y fic lined up to write, and then another (probably longer) action/adventure-y fic planned as well...

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed this... Things will definitely get better for John, albeit not immediately because he's got a lot to work through.

When she had pointedly informed him that she didn't like the blue one and preferred him to wear a brown one, he had equally pointedly informed her that he preferred the blue suit, and since she kept reminding him that he wasn't the Doctor, he saw no reason to dress like him. This reminded me of Hitchcock's Vertigo. It's the part that bugged me most about the film - that the guy wanted the girl who looked identical to the love he lost to dress in the same outfit as the one he lost. This really hit me after reading this - that Rose could ask that of Human!Ten as well ( ... )

Oh! I've never seen a Hitchcock film in my life - so not into horror! - but it just struck me that Rose would do that because "her" Doctor wore the brown pinstripe suit...

We never find out if she ever truly got over the Doctor. It's open to interpretation and I think this could just as easily happen as other scenarios. It's a detriment to Human!Ten's sense of identity if Rose is forcing this on him.

Given the way she behaved in canon, I don't feel any doubt about her having got over the Doctor...

Like others have mentioned, I'm a bit nervous about Martha's intentions just because this is Alt!Martha, so we don't know what makes her tick as well as our Martha. But I do feel for her at having to lose her twin sister Adeola like that. It's ( ... )

Okay, wow, you know what? I'm a HUGE Martha fan and Rose is probably my least favorite character in the Whoverse next to Grace Holloway, but that doesn't change the fact that Rose is wildly out of character in this fic ( ... )

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but I don't agree with you that Rose is wildly out of character. There are many people who share my view of Rose's behaviour and personality as it was portrayed on the screen - and no, they're not all my brain-washed minions ( ... )

I don't mind not positive--as I said I'm not a Rose fan. This, however, goes beyond that. But then maybe I'm unusual in that I try to see and respect the good even in characters that I dislike. Or at the least, to respect the judgment of the characters I *do* like enough to try to see what they saw in them.

If you don't want people who feel that way to read the story, then maybe you ought to be a little more specific in your warning. If I'd seen "Rose bashing" I would have avoided it, but since I don't think she's "the bee's knees" I didn't think there would be a problem. My mistake.

Well I can't see much that's good in Rose these days. She's not the character I quite liked in Season 1 - and I've never understood why the Doctor remained so hung up on her. Considering how many other companions he's had (and loved) and lost, it made no sense to me.

As I said, I took what I saw on the screen and developed her character from there. I've seen far worse depictions of Rose than the one I've ( ... )

Wow...Rose is even more hell to live with than I could've even imagined, (though I could totally picture her behaving like a spoiled ungrateful twit). Poor John. But yay to him finding Martha!

I really do think she would be hell to live with, because she's so selfish and thoughtless...

Yay for Martha indeed - just who Handy needs...
