A town council in south Wales wants to "opt out" of Welsh
I'm a little upset by this story. Basically, the town council of Aberdaugleddau (Milford Haven) in Pembrokeshire in south Wales have drawn up plans to go against the law, as posited by the Welsh Language Act 1993, and not automatically provide both Welsh and English versions of council documents, just English ones. I had always accepted the legend that the brewer George Hodgson invented India Pale Ale (IPA) so as to survive the lengthy sea voyage to India, and thus conquered the region no English ale had previously managed. I said I went for a walk on the pier yesterday, and over the past handful of Sundays I've had a habit of going for a walk around Bangor and taking advantage of the wonderful wather: sunny and cloudless, but a cool breeze.
