A conversation with Skylar; Health tl;dr.

Mar 05, 2012 11:50

This was a conversation I had this morning with my adopted Umbrella, Skylar:

"I love you!"
"I love you, too, Sky-baby."
"Mama!"
"Yes?"
"You stink."
"That's not nice, Skylar."
"Knock-knock."
"Who's there?"
"PEEEEEEEYYYYEEEEW!"

As she lifts her foot to her beak, as if she's covering her nose.

...I squirted her with the spray bottle, LOL.

On to more serious issues. )

cockatoos, conures

I'm so sorry you're having to rehome Laci because of your health. I know how heartbreaking that is even to contemplate, and hope you find her a wonderful, loving home. *hugs*

I am so sorry to hear you're having the health problems you're having - and sorry that you're having the mental anguish of rehoming the birds you love :(

Where are you located?

Are there any parrot rescues in LA or in neighboring states? They may be able to help you find someone to foster her temporarily, or if they can't or if that isn't an option for you, they could at least help you find a good new home for her.

*Hugs*

I am so sorry. I wish I could help you out. I know nobody really knows me here cuz I just lurk and rarely post but I really feel for you. I can't imagine what you are going through, I wish you the best.

Ah jeeze, I really hope your health issues get resolved soon. F-ing insurance companies and their inability to understand that certain things (like a goddamn brain issue) NEED SURGERY ASAP. Sorry, I just hate dealing with them--super lucky and glad I have it, but they're still assholes.

That said, any chance you could temporarily rehome your little one and get her back later? There's a tiny chance maybe I could help in that case, but I'd have to see.
