I work in a nice bookstore, with a ginormous children's department. We tend to have one staff person down there at all times, but they get called out onto the main bookfloor quite often to answer phones or ring register. Plain and simple, I loved this book.  So much so that I made it my Staff Pick for this past week.

Oddly enough, this was the third British novel I read in a row without knowing until I was about twenty pages in.  I fell in love with YA Brit Lit after devouring Louise Rennison's Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging series.  I just adore the Brit voice that comes through in this literature -- you can hear the narrator's in your head, actually ( Read more... )
