Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

NOTE: I was lucky enough to obtain an ARC of New Moon, the highly-anticipated sequel to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight.  My review contains major plot information and spoilers so don't read it if you don't want to know!

When my friend Linda told me, "You HAVE to read this book" I wasn't very skeptical.  We have similar tastes, especially when it comes ( Read more... )

You know, I've read other reviews about this book and most of them were quite nasty. I mean they tore Bella's personality to shreds and stomped on Meyer's dignity... it was horrible. But I really loved your review, it was nice and honest yet, it didn't give too much away. Cool :)

I've read a few in the last week that were scathing, especially towards Meyer's (basically saying her novels are Mormon propoganda -- ridiculous). Although I loved "Twilight" so much more then "New Moon", it was still a good read and I know I'll be at the stores picking up my copy on release day.

(I found you from brighty18's journal)

I decided to look at your journal because you seem interesting. I saw the "Twilight" post here and I wanted to ask...

Did you think then that the entire series/movies would be as big as they are now?

I don't think anyone could have guessed at the success and popularity of the series. When I read Twilight, I knew it was special, and I knew I could sell it. That was three years ago, and I still handsell at least 2 copies a week :-)

I will admit that I have yet to see the movie, and probably won't. I'm also not abashed to say that I loathed Breaking Dawn. I almost didn't finish it and will probably never reread it...well, at least until my kids are asking, "Hey Mom, what's this Twilight book over in the Classics section?" :-)

Feel free to add me if I seem "interesting". I'm always up for new friends.
