So my commuter bike broke a seat stay just as I was researching add-on electric motors. At first I was at a loss, because I still hate the fact that I drive a smoky old gas-burner to work every morning. Erin went walking with a coworker after work, so I saddled up and headed out into the heat. Because the heat's only going to get worse as the week goes on. I headed north on Lawndale and Lake Brandt, then east on Plainfield Rd, back south on Church St and west on Pisgah Church. At Plainfield and Church, my average was 17.0 mph.
