I know this place is dead, as is the rest of livejournal, but since I found this community I felt I had to ask: is skin bleaching/whitening permanent?  Like if I start lightening and reach a level that I want, and stay out of the sun/use sunscreen, will the results last? or does it have to be maintained constantly? I went to the beach recently, and in my excitement to get into the water, I forgot to reapply sunscreen. Now I have a tan, and it looks horrible. I can cover up the tan on my body until it fades, but not on my face. Hello! I'm very new to skin lightening, the only thing I've tried using is lemon juice to lighten my face, which isn't working very well.
