Normally I would not make such a comment as this to such a post as this, but I think you will understand that while we just cremated my grandmother, and I do not in any way want any part of something that once was any part of her within 10 miles of me, it is still useful, interesting, and helpful to know that, if I had, it would be bone dust I would be getting.

That's actually sort of awesome. Thanks.

And I fully approve of keeping some of Pippers. He is your baby. I have all my previous pets' nametags on my keychain. It is nice to have them there.

yeah, the most interesting part of the night was talking about how people get more attached to pets than they do to people. in general, other people don't ever try to sleep on your face, or follow you into the bathroom just because they want to be near you.

i will miss pippers so much if he dies before i do, some people have the ashes mixed with concrete or plaster and made into sculpture or pavement stones. that's pretty cool.

I dunno, I'd be a little creeped out by a statue version of my cat that is actually my cat in some strange, solidified way. To each their own, however.

What makes me feel good is the load of videos of him being a goof that I have saved to my computer. He's 20 miles away with my parents, so sometime sI Just watch them and get mushy, when I can't drive over. He's got some time though. Little bugger's only 8! How old is Pippin?

they have those neat pendants - i liked those. i have the cremated remains of my pet pig in our bedroom - i'll cremate trash and grimley when their times come. did they tell you the story about the lady with the gigantic pig?

I've actually been really curious about the cremating process as of late, due in large part to my mom's recent cremation. V. interesting stuff.

♥!

i am planning to be cremated when i die. the idea of being embalmed and paraded around grosses me out.

Seriously. There's nothing weirder or crazier than open casket fun.

The little kitten that died of pneumonia while I was fostering her is creamated and sitting in my closet window. The guy says it's kind of creepy but she still comes to visit me in my sleep so I think she must like it there. I cried for 2 days after she died, I can't imagine what state I will be in when my girlies go.

And I too want to be cremated, but since I don't really believe in afterlife I guess it doesn't matter.
