Getting over yourself one step at a time
Those here who know me, and know me very, very well...know that I am not always comfortable in the female role. I don't talk that much about God,
But living here has taught me, that some form or force truly does exist in the universe. The one person who has convinced me the most, is the one person in my life that probably believes the least. Paint the sky with stars...
I wake up at 1 am, and step out on my porch in my underwear. The silence is profound and absolute, and the area hasn't been ruined by overhead lights yet. The stars are out...so many stars. I was raised 12 miles from the city, and watched the stars fade into the orange lights of Interstate 68, and three prisons...even as good paying jobs dried up ( Read more... ) -
My boss today...
Was going to let me go at 1pm, so I could drive to Durham to see dester'edra. She decided to let me go at 1015, so I could drive safely since I never been there. She worries about my long distance drives. My boss is from Long Island,NY...and came to the OBX in the 80s. At the time she came here, she had been a processing plant supervisor, and was pregnant with her first child, which she nearly miscarried from the stress. Today
I'm having trouble processing this one: and I come here when I do have those moments. Today, I offered to work Thanksgiving day at my new office. I only get one day off for Thanksgiving, and thats too far to make it to Del's place and back. Besides, I am the only one in the office with no family here, so its only fair that I work.
