Samantha arrived here Friday at roughly 6:30ish. She was not feeling too well and the trip down had been rough. I took her to Soprano's for dinner and then we came home. I was sitting beside her on the loveseat having an internal discussion:

After a slow start, 2007 turned into one heck of a wild ride. I've been through many changes this year and they have been all over the spectrum. There maybe a change or two left before the year ends, who knows? Another Halloween has come and gone. I really didn't do much to celebrate, as I have been under the weather over the past week or so. I am almost over it now.

Which is good, since Samantha is on her way down to help me celebrate my birthday this weekend!!! Yours truly turns 43 tomorrow and it will be so fantastic to have her here with me. Makes ( Read more... )

Samantha came to spend Labor Day weekend with me Friday. She arrived about 5:00 pm. We went out for steak and spent the rest of the evening at home. Our waitress thought that Samantha coming so far to see me was "just the sweetest thang". :) I agree with her completely. I can't believe how very fortunate I am to have such a wonderful girlfriend. So, the last few weeks have been good. I've been getting gradually better to the point that most of the time I'm experiencing no pain at all from the surgery. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Right now, my focus in life is two-fold. I'm eagerly awaiting my trip to Kentucky at the end of the month to meet up with Samantha. (Hi babe!!!) We talk on ( Read more... )

Things continue to improve since the operation. My left side seems to be healing better than the right, due to an incision made at a necessarily bendy spot. I'm in less pain, but still taking meds for what pain there is, and to reduce swelling and inflammation. I'm moving around the apartment pretty well now, and the appetite is back (not ( Read more... )

Well, the surgery on Monday went as expected. After all, I was out for all of it. I mean, by the time they got me on the operating table, I could feel myself fading. Apparently, I went under very deeply, because they had a rough time waking me up. I barely remember getting sick in post op.
