Rosie O'Donnell Tries to Change Mike Huckabee's Mind on Gay Adoption

Apr 24, 2010 13:49

Apparently Rosie O'Donnell has a Sisyphus complex. Sisyphus was the fabled Greek king who was punished by the Gods and sentenced to a life of pushing a huge rock up a hill, only to watch the rock roll back down again. For Rosie O'Donnell's part, the rock she was trying to push was Mike Huckabee, and she was trying to push him toward a more ( Read more... )

Begging the question of, if the undead are undead, can they survive where there is no atmosphere? Because if so, maybe we should use zombie slave labor instead of robots for outer-planetary mining.

"Begging the question" is a form of logical fallacy in which a statement or claim is assumed to be true without evidence other than the statement or claim itself. When one begs the question, the initial assumption of a statement is treated as already proven without any logic to show why the statement is true in the first place.

Friend #1: Larry King is getting his 8th divorce, and Elizabeth Taylor is possibly getting married for a 9th time. Jesse James and Tiger Woods are, well...you know...Even Newt Gingrich is on his 3rd marriage. Britney Spears was married exactly 55 hours on a whim. There's a drive-through wedding chapel in Vegas. Yet same-sex marriage is what is going to destroy the institution of marriage? REALLY?!? (via many ( ... )

What I really want to know is why it is so important for same-sex couples to have the marriage label.

Has anybody pointed out to this idiot yet that being gay doesn't make you sterile or prevent you from adopting a child in a good many states? In which case, why shouldn't those children have the benefits of married parents regardless of who their parents may be?

This is becoming a problem, IMO. I'm not mad at the OP - seriously, it isn't/shouldn't be their responsibility to live and breathe ONTD_P... but the double-posts have been kind of crazy lately. Can we get the mods to review this a little better?

"I think the ideal relationship is both a mother and a father."

People who fulfill Huckabee's basic requirements for an ideal parental relationship better than, say, a nice gay couple:

1. Fred and Rosemary West
2. Phillip Garrido and his wife
3. The guy who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart and his wife

I mean, they're all evil, but hey, not gay!

"I think the ideal relationship is both a mother and a father."

"ideal relationship"?

What about all the single parents that are able to provide for their children? From what I've heard from my friends that grew up with a single parent is that they wouldn't have had it any other way.

Fuck this. Fuck everyone.
