MiB is not truly evil, despite Darlton's best efforts. He and Ben are the most interesting and sympathetic characters on the show, despite a stockpile of bad actions that keep getting asked for by every douchenozzle around them ( ... )

It's like when the writers aim for something, they pull off the opposite.

MIB and Ben are supposed to be hated, but everyone loves them.

Jack and Kate are supposed to be loved, but everyone hates them.

WRONG! Jack was supposed to loved but only in the beginning and then hated in the mid part and then loved again once he redeemed himself. This is the process of a hero. As far as Kate, yea idk. Bitch sucks.

I want to know what the ghosts' agendas are. They seem to be that weird third party and I have no idea what they are up to. Any ideas?

This is a real snag for me. At first I thought all dead people on the island were Smokey. But then Michael shows up and says that isn't so and now I don't know what to think.

Unless Michael was Smokey.

But then Smokey kissed Richard.... Hot.

i though the ghosts' agendas were to help the candidates along - to find their rightful path to their destiny - whether it's accidentally shooting somebody, confronting their daddy issues so they can lead or drinking jesus juice from a strange man on a beach

I didn't really pay much attention to the episode last night. So I have nothing-- other than MiB's non-bio mom clearly called him Jose.

Or Hosea.

Tbh I won't believe it until Lostpedia admits it's true but I think it's great that you noticed it when no one else did haha :)

I will think of him as Hosea/Jose from now on.

I prefer Jose to Hosea because the latter makes me think of that bald dickcheese from Top Chef.

this episode had critical information, but (like i said in the discussion post last night), it would have been SO MUCH BETTER as flashbacks last season ( ... )

I think your way is better. and we could even put ab aeterno into the last season / cut that episode completely.

yeah ia. again, i liked all the info they gave us, but it could have fit neatly into S4.

give richard a centric, and then at the end of it you have hurley say "she says you can't let him leave". boom. lost.

and we all would have assumed she meant Jack, since he was the one so hell bent on leaving at that point. but no, TWIST, she meant the smoke monster! which we would have figured out eventually.

ugh let's go write the show for them.

Yeah I like that better especially mixing up the timeline. That would be pretty Lost.

But I also think they could have cut some scenes like the Adam and Eve stuff way shorter but maybe that was because I was spoiled and I thought everyone must have had it figured out even before the showed the flashback of Lock, Kate and Jack finding them.

fake mom hater bitch was the ultimate manipulator. She could have killed no name in the well but she had to fuck up his wheel and kill his people to create rage that would elicit a slo-mo Michael Bay worthy type anger. Also, favoring No Name over Jacob in turned provoked deep held resentment that once he killed their Fake Mom - Jacob pushed in the light thus securing him as protector of the island. The only way to truly protect the island to create a deep conflict - what's deeper than sibling rivalry?
