I know! I was just flipping stations, resigned to crappy television, and suddenly there they were, just three minutes into the first period! I've got a whole evening of hockey to enjoy!

omg I am in Michigan all month, and I have been in heaven watching all the games on FSN. It is going to make me very, very sad to go back to listening to the games over the Internet again in February.

And your team is an expansion team. And played some very unsportsmanlike hockey in its early days. And is hated by everyone in Detroit without exception.

Truly I know nothing about hockey except that there are loads of bumper stickers in Colorado that say Red Wings Suck. Which I think is very unsportsmanlike.

(I don't really follow any teams besides Oilers, Capitals, and Penguins for, I suppose, obvious reasons (hometown, Ovechkin, my hate for Crosby).)

(Really, I didn't care that much about the Avalanche. But then there was the turtle thing, and...yes. They are much hated by Detroit and everyone who follows the team.)

Oh, you really don't want me to give the story. Suffice to say that one of their players made a cheap hit and injured a Detroit player. And Detroit responded in kind at a later game, and the original guy sort of curled in a ball on the ice.

It's not a pretty rivalry.
