In philosophy we are talking about Hume on the heels of Descartes, empiricism coming after the rationalist assurances. This makes me think of Jesus who was and is the source for all of who I am inside and out, yet, like Descartes says, I am distinct from God. I find it incredibly easy to receive from everything or anyone and to filter things down in through our perceptions to form an understanding of things based first on the foundations of our lives, which are ironically those things we worship so they may be called the mountains of our lives.
