A previously cut clip of Britney Spears talking about the conservatorship in 2016 on the UK "Jonathan Ross Show" has emerged.

It is the only time Britney ever mentioned the topic

Aww my heart breaks for Britney in that clip. 😢

I think it’s one of the few times during the c-ship where she was pretty clear and almost vulnerable whereas other interviews during that time she came off ditzy and off somewhere else.

She looks so healthy and is clear, funny, and charismatic in this clip. For a second I thought to myself, “maybe??? there was an aspect of the conservatorship that was good for her?”

And then he said she looks like she’s in a good place/happy and that response she gave him was straight up bullshit. You can see her shut down as she recites what they told her to say. Really heartbreaking to watch, tbh.

I think the conservatorship was good at making sure she took her meds. But she didn’t fucking need that to happen for that result to take place. She needed time off, and just someone she trusted to make sure she was on a regiment tbh. I don’t blame her for not trusting doctors after what happened to her. The doctors she had were corrupt af and used as a weapon.

There are many complexities when it comes to conservatorships that people don’t really appreciate and that is the risk that it will be used to exploit and/or control the person under guardianship. Another major issue for people under conservatorships is whether they are given any opportunities for supported decision making so that they can develop those skills.

Yeah I’m confused by that too. My understanding is she was placed under the conservatorship in 2008 and this interview is 2016.

I think she just confused 3 years with 3rd album under conserv.

This would’ve been her 4th (Circus, Femme Fatale, and Britney Jean were under conservatorship) but that’s a good thought, she could’ve jumbled it up.
