One of the accused "accompanied the artist on a daily basis" during his stay in Argentina and is charged with "abandonment of a person followed by death".

Not sure if I understand this. Are they saying that that person left Liam knowing he was completely fucked off his gourd and that resulted in the fall that led to his death?

Seems like it.

I went to the police press release because I was confused too and I think something got left out of the translation. If I understand correctly, he is being charged with abandonment because the police think he helped Liam procure the drugs and then left him alone. He also seems to have lied to the police about it. His charge isn’t just abandonment, it’s abandonment coupled with supply and facilitation of drugs.

OK, that makes more sense! Thank you.

Something about the way this man died has really unsettled me. He spends his life surrounded by hangers-on and then they abandon him when he needs them the most. And then leaking those pictures. Just awful.

Yeah I’ve seen online many people that weren’t 1D fans that feel shaken by his death. I think it’s just the circumstances of his death and the trajectory his life took is so tragic.

It is really so sad to watch his X factor audition and see the kid he was.

I think it was the LA times that did a write up that described how people didn’t think his team around his solo career cared about him.

The LA times write up was frustrating bc it had the bones of an interesting piece but clearly suffered from lack of sources willing to speak on or off record right now and then just kind of ended on this weird white washy note that wasn’t necessary.

The AJ McLean interview was really thoughtful and reminded me a lot of what Robbie Williams was saying. The bit that you mentioned that came from the music video director was telling though not totally surprising but also not surprised it was anonymous. I think it’ll still be a while before people will really tell the story about what was really going on bts bc there is stuff with Liam that definitely dates back to 1D but also think it’s a lot uglier then people think

Yeah, it made me sad to read how his team treated him. He was really lost, and I am sad he never found his way.

I really feel for AJ. He went through a lot of the same things and came out the other side. It broke my heart to read that he knew something was wrong and had been texting him.

I just hope his loved ones get whatever answers and justice they need for their own healing

This so could have been preventable and I hate that the only solace was that he was so out of it he didn’t feel any fear or pain.

I was watching one of those Hallmark movies with Jesse Metcalfe and read about he fell from a 2nd floor balcony years ago. He was very lucky he didn’t have serious injuries.

Re: the reflex posture that could have saved him - a former manager got into a car accident after drinking and the doctors told her that since her body was “relaxed” and had a delay response that she avoided serious injury than if she had tensed up (obv I know that’s not the same as reflex posture, just reminded me of it). Not sure how true that is or if she was just trying to somehow lessen her crash even though it would have never happened if she wasn’t drinking.

Like thank god I was drunk when I got into this drunk driving accident or I really could have hurt myself??? Save it.

Luckily she crashed into a ditch instead of another car/person so she almost acted like it wasn’t that big of a deal?? Idk, I’m an alcoholic myself but could never try to deflect something like that. She was a great manager but a very selfish person…she hurt a lot of people in her life and none of it had to do with alcohol. Phew, didn’t expect to slightly vent about her tonight!

No worries. I’ve had a few alcoholics like that in my life, and the extreme and purposeful disconnect on action, responsibility, and consequence is wild. When I was younger and softer, I had more sympathy. Now I’m tapped out. I’ve got nothing. Not even a half-assed “someone was watching out for you.”

I’m glad she lucked out and went into a ditch, and not into another person. I hope you’re doing okay.
