IDK, this kind of seems like an attempt to get fired so he can break any contracts he might have LOL.

I mean, don't publicly bite the hand that feeds you? You don't want potential employers to think you're difficult by complaining about your cushy gig to the media.

I don't watch this show so I got no horse in this but here I am regardless.

For the most part I think his statements are pretty fair and not disparaging compared to other actors who go off the rails. But I wonder if he's trying to bargain or get fan support so he can level with the powers that be?

This feels like an attempt to blackmail the writers into letting him fix his character or have more control. If they don’t agree, he seems to be implying they should just write him off.

He’s not wrong, and I understand being unhappy with your job, especially if you know you could do it better and no one is listening to you. But, at the end of the day, he’s being paid well, and this role has opened many doors for him. He could have kept this to himself, which only confirms my theory that this was a deliberate move to get what he wants. Many publications picked this up, and they all apparently contacted Netflix for comment.

This reminds me of when Katherine Heigl dragged the writers for how they were writing Izzy and then they made her do CPR and whatnot on a deer after that lol

Gabriel has been irredeemably horrible since day one. Let me cheat on my long-term partner with a twee American girl, without telling her I have a girlfriend! Then let me whine constantly and do nothing to improve as a person!

He should be fucking frustrated with what they did to his hair. I mean, WTF was that?

He wanted to grow his hair out, so he has himself to blame there.

They could have styled it a lot better! Punishment, TBH.

I mean, he's right! They ruined his character with all the back and forth and the love triangle.

But also, it's Emily in Paris??? I don't think he should expect much. Just take the easy check, idk...

the endless emily/gabriel back-and-forth is soooo tired and the show's writing has always been bad, but i did not expect him to actually say so lol. netflix must be writing a strongly worded email right now
